The state party officials have demanded he step aside. Not going to go well for him by the end of the day tomorrow.

Mills would have won it easily if he was not in the race so I suspect she might become the candidate yet.

All is not lost, yet. I think he'll be pressured to end it more intensely with each passing hour.

No. I 'm not defending him at all--merely a wry observation on how quickly this devolved.

I think that certain concerned individual was tap dancing when he won the primary. I think that if Mills becomes the candidate, that certain individual will be sweating bullets.

Just my opinion, of course.

whoever replaces him will be tarred with the lingering "scandal" and claimed "coverup."

I do agree that Mills, being female--no matter what some will argue about her age or anything else--might well be the hardest to smear...

That he was NOT the *establishment* candidate.

For the record -Mills had Schmidt's full throated support until she dropped out of the race.
