OP
For the film Event Horizon, his character wore an Australian flag patch on his uniform.

(5,597 posts)3. And he played Vasili Borodin in The Hunt for Red October.
In The Hunt for Red October (1990) his character's last words are "I would like to have seen Montana." Then, 3 years later in Jurassic Park (1993) he enters the story as Grant, digging up dinosaur fossils in Montana.

Neill had the costume designers replace the Union Jack with the Aboriginal flag. Seems like one of the good ones.

(7,626 posts)8. Australia should drop the Union Jack bit, it's not a colony anymore.
ETA: Event Horizon is an awesome horror/sci-fi movie. 🙃

(7,626 posts)7. The first movie I remember him being in is Dead Calm in 1989.
That's also where I discovered a cute redhead named Nicole Kidman. Pretty good movie. Another lesser known movie he starred in was a trippy horror flick with a Stephen King flavor called In the Mouth of Madness (1994). Really worth a watch if it's your thing. 😀
