Maybe you know this... noise from data centers implicated in cattle still births

I know they suck up electricity and water wherever they are. I did not know that chickens have reduced egg production and cattle have increased stillbirths in the vicinity of data centers. Apparently the stress of the constant audio noise is the issue even though in terms of decibel it doesn't exceed 60 db, so is below the noise level typically used to mark industrial hazards.

This will NOT make data centers popular among rural peoples.

I encountered a story on the Bing aggregator the other day and found many links to social media, one to a yahoo news account. There is concern but not enough controlled studies to stop the boom in building data centers in livestock growing areas.

How long will it take before data center noise is linked to human stillbirths & miscarriages? hedda_foil 15 hrs ago #1
The story that was posted on Bing cited a Montanan asking that very question 31j20b3 15 hrs ago #2

No one yet knows

But with all the concern about stillbirths actually being abortions I'm pretty sure red states will be building the datasets

This claim is as credible as “ivermectin cures COVID.” There is no scientific data to support it. Zero. Nada. What you have are some anecdotal claims by a few ranchers, who may be mismanaging the herd or just having bad luck (avian influenza, water issues, etc.), plus a desire to believe it because we all hate data centers.

We hear this nonsense all the time. Ranchers also claim that their operations are carbon neutral or they benefit wildlife. Some claim that they should be able to kill Bald Eagles or Cara Caras because they “attack and kill newborn animals,” when really all they’re seeing is a scavenger eating a dead animal that wasn’t cared for well enough by its mother.

Don’t spread lies just because they’d be convenient for our narrative.

From your post the concerned appear to be on your list of opponents, and you've defamed them genericaly. As an educated observer with critical reading skills I find that suspiciously suggesting you aren't a neutral person on the issue. Am I correct??

And I'm NOT ruling out that might be for a very good reason. I did say that the reports had frequency on social media (which means open sharing of content unscrutinized by editors) with only one on Yahoo News.

I never claimed it was true. I only said there are people (mostly on social media, and one very active advocate in Montana) that are claiming data center links to reproductive failures in chickens and cattle.

On a related but very separate issue... I'm quite opposed to the current trend to build all these data centers. THey are exorbitantly expensive and utility demanding. The SUPER RICH behind these projects want to dominate and demand water use and electricity, and shift the cost tof increased utility production to utility rate payers to cover the costs of expanding capacity.

That's mearly a reverse Robin Hood project, rob the poor and give to the rich.

Screw that. If your (a figurative Your) use of electricity and water exceed the capacity of local/regional utilities then You (again figuritaively) damned will need to pay the price to expand utility capacity to serve your business and not local/regional taxpayers

It's the investors need and it should be the investors cost
