"This will finally bring Trump down!"

I really hate these type of post taglines that often appear on DU, mostly frpm podcasts. If I started listing all the things that Trump has done that should "bring him down" I would be writing until September.

With a political party that no longer believes in the Constitution and will cover his ass no matter he does, a corporate media that doesn't if try to hide it's bias for Trump and the right, and a Suprme Court that literally made up "presidential immunity" just for Trump, who really believes anything will bring him down?

The only thing that will end this nightmare is his poor health.

And they've had plenty of opportunities. They just won't. And now every one of them bears responsibility for this teeming dung pile we have become.

by filet of fish, fries, tartar sauce, etc.
The Repukes don’t do so well when he is not on the ballot, and he won’t be on it ever again except symbolically. That is a big reason they are acting to limit who can vote. A personality cult that loses its leader is greatly diminished.
I know we have heard “this should end him” for the last ten years, but father time is undefeated.

there can be none of this "let's look forward, not backward" or "the nation needs to heal" stuff if we win. There must be accountability for this rampant corruption and the connections with Putin and Epstein need to be FULLY revealed. I really liked Biden, but I think he overestimated the strength of the guard rails of this country, especially the media, and counted on his decency and normalcy to win the day. We saw how a corrupt media thirsty for clicks and approvals for mergers treated him.

He’s not being convicted, it would just be performative.

What the Democrats should do is pass a shitload of progressive legislation with real teeth and let the pukes filibuster it or have Piss veto it if it somehow miraculously got through the senate. And then run on those things in ‘28.

They won’t but they should.

Not saying they shouldn't impeach him in the House, they should. But ultimately, it won't result in anything since there aren't 67 votes in the Senate.

There’s a problem we’ve had through the history of tyrants. Once removed, the people, party, laws, courts, etc. that placed and maintained the existence of such despots still remain to begin the process in a predictable cycle.

Reading your second paragraph says this also. It seems our nightmares end in spurts and gushes. Counting nightmares like TSF that seem to not end our misery after they’re gone has consumed too many precious years.

And, there is why we are still in this nightmare.

The programming is still working just as intended.

There are plenty of ways to end this crap. The powers that be just don't want to.

Truly 'bringing him down' will entail bringing a lot of things 'down'. And, those who profit from their position are not going to do that. From either side of the aisle.

So...

the repubs in the House and Senate are to blame. During Watergate the repubs told Nixon he had to go. They were much more independent then.

That is Fool's Gold

You are going to be very disappointed - like many other Americans.
Sure, there will be dancing in the streets, etc.

Trump's death doesn't end the nightmare.

Trump remains as President, doing as he does, because his political party and the oligarchs who control it and the media enable him to do so.
They could impeach him and end this in very short order.
But they won't.
They'll install another puppet to do their bidding.

That is the real problem. It has been all along.
It will continue to be a big problem long after Trump kicks off.

Winning in November is exceedingly important, but it won’t be enough. At some point, we will be required to do as Mario Savio suggested way back when and, metaphorically of course, throw ourselves on the cogs of the machine so it ceases running.
