Don't know about where you are, but the wildfire sn=moke is hitting us hard here in NW VA. Iwent to work in Harrisonburg this morning and could hardly see to drive, it was so bad, and in the little town near where I live you couldn't see more than a half block in front of you (I had to go to the store for some stuff after work)). Oddly, possibly because we live on heavily wooded acreage, it's not too bad at our house, but I feel sorry for the trees.
How is it where you live?

It seems that the smoke here, hung low in the sky for the last couple mornings. looking up you couldn see hints of blue above the smoke
I've been wondering if the hills help the smoke "pool" into denser areas than in flat open areas, I don;t know the answer to that, I just wonder,

(6,772 posts)The highest, or worst category, is "Hazardous" and begins at 300. It set an all-time record. When I arrived home this afternoon the house at the end of the street, maybe 120 yards away, looked like a ghostly apparition.
I always wondered what it would have been like to live in LA in the '70s, and I think today we got a good approximation.
