The 2022 Summer Fund Drive ends this Sunday

Hello everyone -- I have a quick announcement about the Summer Fund Drive.

First, I'd like to thank everyone who has purchased a Star Membership or renewed their Star Membership during the past week! Democratic Underground could not exist without your generosity. As you know, the Summer Fund Drive includes the "gift membership" promotion which allows DUers to purchase Star Memberships for members who don't have them. Once again, this promotion was a big success and it was my pleasure to pass your gifts along to the recipients.

DU bumper stickers will be sent out this coming week to those who opted to receive them.

Please note that the Summer Fund Drive will end late on Sunday night (August 21). If you have stickies to post, make sure to use them before the end of the day Sunday, because the stickies will be gone on Monday morning.

If you purchase a Star Membership for someone else before the end of the fund drive on Sunday, you may not hear from me until Monday morning. Don't worry though -- any gift memberships purchased before the end of the fund drive will of course be honored. However, please note that if you want to gift a Star Membership to someone, you will not be able to do so once the fund drive ends -- you will have to wait until next year.

Thank you once again to everyone who participated this week! DU is truly the best community on the Internet and I'm proud to be a part of it with you all.

I tried to send oonation even though some one gave me a star membership.

Using a credit card, they kept insisting I use PayPal, something I do not want. How do I get around that?

2. Hello

If you select “One-time payment” (the third option on the Star Membership page) and then enter the amount you want to pay, you’ll be taken to a PayPal page. At the bottom of the page there should be a grey button that says “Pay with debit or credit card” — select that and you can check out as a guest, no PayPal account required.

If you absolutely don’t want to have anything to do with PayPal, I’m afraid the only other option is to pay by mail. That’s the fourth option on the Star Membership page.
