Website called 'Dogequest' created to dox Tesla owners nationwide
Source: The Independent

As protests against DOGE head Elon Musk spread across the country, a website called Dogequest has reportedly published the personal details of Tesla owners, leading to concerns about privacy and safety.
The site reveals the names, addresses and phone numbers of Tesla owners on an interactive map and uses an image of a Molotov cocktail as a cursor. The operators of the site have stated that they will only remove the information of Tesla owners who prove that they have sold their cars, according to 404 Media.
The new site comes amid a number of attacks on Tesla properties, such as arson at showrooms and service centers, seemingly in protest of Musk and his role in the administration of President Donald Trump. The map on the site also includes the locations of Tesla dealerships and superchargers as well as the personal information of staff at the Department of Government Efficiency, which is led by Musk.
The accuracy of the information remains unclear. Some of the people included on the site are verified Tesla owners, backers of the company or Musk, according to 404 Media.

Heads-up to DU Tesla owners.

(2,172 posts)Don't go after the car owners, go after Tesla and Musk. These people are already in for a world of hurt when resale value plummets and parts and service become unavailable. Most are just innocent consumers.

You know what's dangerous? Broad-brushing a couple of million people for the cars they bought over the last 10 years.

Why is there an assumption that this is sanctioned by the Democratic Party and its members, associates, or followers?
"WE" need to stop broad-brushing the acts of a FEW to somehow represent the sentiments of ALL.
hueymahl
(2,788 posts)Even on this site. Maybe "WE" should stop ignoring reality.
BTW, in no way did I say it was sanctioned by the Democratic Party. Now you are just putting words in my mouth (on my keyboard? 😀
BumRushDaShow
(151,667 posts)There is a BIG difference between "taking joy" in or even taking note of something, and actually carrying out any criminal activity like vandalizing.
THAT should be the take-away here. I.e., to establish that there is no "1984"-style "thought police" running amok.

When you say "We" on a discussion board that has a TOS that says this in part -
Democratic Underground is an online community for friendly, politically liberal people who understand the importance of working together to elect more Democrats and fewer Republicans to all levels of American government. Constructive criticism of Democratic politicians, party officials, and public figures is welcome and encouraged, but we expect our members to follow our forum rules and participate in a manner which promotes a positive atmosphere.
Members are not expected to hold across-the-board progressive opinions on every single issue, but we do expect members to be generally progressive and to support Democrats at election time -- remember that and respect it when posting. Harsh, divisive, partisan attacks against Democrats or progressive values (from the right or the left) are not welcome here.
(snip)
https://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=termsofservice
then what else can one assume when one says "We", when associated with the carrying out of clearly criminal acts as if it is "We" who are actually doing such?

hueymahl
(2,788 posts)To prove your point or maybe get the last word? Im going to continue to call out bad behavior when I see it. I support Democrats and the Democratic Party 100%. That means calling out bad behavior when I see it, otherwise we end up in an echo chamber and get blindsided when we lose. Hmm. When did that last happen???
BumRushDaShow
(151,667 posts)but I disagree with attributing that bad behavior to "Democrats"/"progressives"/"liberals" by using some all-inclusive "We".
See this - https://www.democraticunderground.com/10143422187
I am sure there are lots and lots of "Democrats"/"liberals"/"progressives" running around with "suppressed AR-15"s and molotov cocktails.

(2,788 posts)Or Democrats at all. I said/implied we should not be cheering them on/engaging in scheudenfraud. But excellent use of a straw man!
BumRushDaShow
(151,667 posts)then one cannot assume what you meant by "We" other than what seems to happen on DU far too often - which is embracing the "negative" and attributing it to something "We" did or do.

No it's not. Yet another trying to accept responsibility for criminal behavior from unknown assailants. That's about as clueless as one can get.
It sure as hell DOES cut it unless you consider yourself idiots like "Black Bloc" or some of anti-fa groups that are out there. They have NOTHING to do with the Democratic Party NOR with "liberals" or "progressives".
People need to get a fucking clue. It's amazing how gullible people are.
NEWSFLASH - there are a whole pile of RW LOONS - many lead by Steve Bannon (remember him?) who HATE Muskrat. Bannon has been the BIGGEST BLOWHARD of their crowd railing against Muskrat. Remember that RW "civil war" talk? The "populists" of the RW loons claim they don't like "oligarchs" either. 45 has been trying to get them to "reconcile" but it hasn't totally happened yet, nor have his followers completely caved.

(9,702 posts)Republican reporters and conservative talk show hosts are being swatted almost every night for the last week - and its being blamed on Democrats on social media. On Twitter, TicToc etc there are ring camera videos every day of police surrounding Republican talks show hosts/reporters houses with their guns drawn - handcuffing some. Often there are kids in the house. Truly psychopathic behavior but Democrats are being blamed. The caller usually says the man of the house just killed his dogs, girlfriend or family. You think the police would be on to it right now but they keep swatting .
Also, most Teslas have cameras - so lots of videos of people keying Teslas online - clear videos where the person could be easily identified. So lots of posts like help us make this person famous and identify this Democrat. Its out of control - now videos of SICK people smearing their shit on Teslas and of road rage on Teslas Some very sick people out there and unfortunately social media is blaming it on Dems.
Social media has changed the world - so we will probably see more of this psychopathic stuff.

True story but in college, one of my college buddies had a '60s era Bug and the summer before my senior year when working as a New Students Program counselor, a bunch of us hopped in her Bug - literally 9 of us thanks to the front and back bench seats, and drove to Brewster, MA (and later Provincetown) from Amherst, which was about 90 miles away. They are deceptive looking considering how "small" they look from the outside but that hides how roomy they are inside.

I hate to say dial back the rhetoric when this is creating heat for "President" Musk and his hoodied gang of nerd misfits, but a boycott is all we really need here. Nazler's foundational customers were mostly progressive, so if we walk the company dies. There's no need for anything further.
