Website called 'Dogequest' created to dox Tesla owners nationwide

Source: The Independent

Wednesday 19 March 2025 23:52 EDT

As protests against DOGE head Elon Musk spread across the country, a website called “Dogequest” has reportedly published the personal details of Tesla owners, leading to concerns about privacy and safety.

The site reveals the names, addresses and phone numbers of Tesla owners on an interactive map and uses an image of a Molotov cocktail as a cursor. The operators of the site have stated that they will only remove the information of Tesla owners who prove that they have sold their cars, according to 404 Media.

The new site comes amid a number of attacks on Tesla properties, such as arson at showrooms and service centers, seemingly in protest of Musk and his role in the administration of President Donald Trump. The map on the site also includes the locations of Tesla dealerships and superchargers as well as the personal information of staff at the Department of Government Efficiency, which is led by Musk.

The accuracy of the information remains unclear. Some of the people included on the site are verified Tesla owners, backers of the company or Musk, according to 404 Media.

There are hundreds of thousands of people who bought these cars WAY before Musk started acting like a jackass. Do we deserve to be doxxed for knowlingly, yet unknowingly supporting what's happening now? They've been around since 2015.

You know what's dangerous? Broad-brushing a couple of million people for the cars they bought over the last 10 years.

There is a BIG difference between "taking joy" in or even taking note of something, and actually carrying out any criminal activity like vandalizing.

THAT should be the take-away here. I.e., to establish that there is no "1984"-style "thought police" running amok.

BTW, in no way did I say it was sanctioned by the Democratic Party. Now you are just putting words in my mouth (on my keyboard? 😀

When you say "We" on a discussion board that has a TOS that says this in part -

Core Principles

Democratic Underground is an online community for friendly, politically liberal people who understand the importance of working together to elect more Democrats and fewer Republicans to all levels of American government. Constructive criticism of Democratic politicians, party officials, and public figures is welcome and encouraged, but we expect our members to follow our forum rules and participate in a manner which promotes a positive atmosphere.

Members are not expected to hold across-the-board progressive opinions on every single issue, but we do expect members to be generally progressive and to support Democrats at election time -- remember that and respect it when posting. Harsh, divisive, partisan attacks against Democrats or progressive values (from the right or the left) are not welcome here.

(snip)

https://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=termsofservice

then what else can one assume when one says "We", when associated with the carrying out of clearly criminal acts as if it is "We" who are actually doing such?

Republican reporters and conservative talk show hosts are being “swatted” almost every night for the last week - and it’s being blamed on Democrats on social media. On Twitter, TicToc etc there are ring camera videos every day of police surrounding Republican talks show hosts/reporters houses with their guns drawn - handcuffing some. Often there are kids in the house. Truly psychopathic behavior but Democrats are being blamed. The caller usually says the man of the house just killed his dogs, girlfriend or family. You think the police would be on to it right now but they keep “swatting “ .

Also, most Tesla’s have cameras - so lots of videos of people keying Tesla’s online - clear videos where the person could be easily identified. So lots of posts like “help us make this person famous and identify this Democrat”. It’s out of control - now videos of SICK people smearing their shit on Tesla’s and of road rage on Tesla’s Some very sick people out there and unfortunately social media is blaming it on Dems.

Social media has changed the world - so we will probably see more of this psychopathic stuff.

People are being sloppy with their associations. It's very easy to get attached to a bad group. Be cautious.

I hate to say dial back the rhetoric when this is creating heat for "President" Musk and his hoodied gang of nerd misfits, but a boycott is all we really need here. Nazler's foundational customers were mostly progressive, so if we walk the company dies. There's no need for anything further. Verbally shame their customers when the opportunity presents and leave it at that.

Don't underestimate our power to destroy fascism with its favorite tool of oppression: the "free" market.

That absolutely kills us in the court of public opinion. Same reaction as those that use 'protest' as cover to go out and burn cars and buildings, and loot businesses.

If you are participating in this - or even giving this a thumbs up or a giggle - - YOU'RE A FRIGGIN' MORON !

34. Bad idea. This includes my niece and her family. They "bought the car before they knew Elon was crazy"

She’s already got several stickers on her car indicating that, and she still cringes when she parks at work.

Do I have to even say this? — Jesus, people, don’t support doxxing.

being targeted for violence.

I do applaud the non-violent protests, kicking Teslas out of car shows, other countries banning them from being sold, not buying new or used ones, if you don't already have one, and selling the stock if it's in your investment portfolio.

It's fun watching the stock plummeting faster than one of Eloon's rockets.

And give them 25 years to life. I wouldn't even care if they wound up in Guantanamo Bay. FAFO.

really worry about my friends. They bought on good faith back before all the craziness.

And they are staunch Democrats who are really involved locally.

A lot of people bought Teslas in good faith and for environmental reasons before three months ago. They paid big bucks they will have to eat now if they sell the vehicle. I mean, if they want to dox people who have bought Teslas in the past two months, maaaaybe. But a wholesale doxxing of average, normal people who bought a car before they understood it would benefit a madman bent on world domination? No fucking way.

Regardless all the other good reasons not to buy one, it's just not worth the risk.

75. I wouldn't be surprised if musk is behind this chaos

Maybe hired a few of his little DOGE brownshirts to cook this website up to gain sympathy and more nefariously give the administration more sweeping powers and ability to crack down on “domestic terrorism”.

Musk really doesn’t give a fuck about Tesla. He clearly no longer cares about the shareholders and he really never cared about the customers given how they try to skirt every regulation they can - and how shoddy the quality is.

That said, anarchists and other likeminded idiots do set shit on fire. It can’t be excused, but sorry it all feels way too coordinated.
