Trump picks Boeing over Lockheed for fighter jet contract

Source: Reuters via Yahoo Finance

U.S. President Donald Trump awarded Boeing on Friday the contract to build the U.S. Air Force's most sophisticated fighter jet yet, handing the company a much-needed win and boosting its shares.

The Next Generation Air Dominance program will replace Lockheed Martin's F-22 Raptor with a crewed aircraft built to enter combat alongside drones.

Trump, the 47th president, announced the new jet's name, the F-47.

"We've given an order for a lot. We can't tell you the price," Trump told reporters in the Oval Office.

Lockheed will have something to say about this before any contract is funded...

it will take longer than Trump's term to finish the New Air Force One(s).......which pisses him off immensely.....
Maybe this will help it along............
(Not that I would like to fly in a plane that was rushed through production)
He insisted that the new exterior color scheme be changed from the current color scheme by Jacquie Kennedy, even though the current color scheme maximizes and assists with the planes operation. Trump's color scheme puts a much higher demand on cooling due to radiant heat from the sun......
Interestingly....LOL.....It is Red White and Blue Horizontal Stripes, in a different order than the Russian Flag.
Biden changed his color scheme ordered in his first Term, but Trump immediately changed it right back on January 20th, along with a whole list of other things in our Government which basically reversed anything Biden had done, that what he had done in his first term.

I get the feeling that he, (2025 group, etc and Putin) have a long long list prepared of priorities, arranged for being released day by day.
They are moving at WARP speed anyway, but don't want to dump a hundred(s) of Major items in a single day, week, or even a month.
Once they get enough accomplished they can do a GRAND dump, but don't want to turn the entire citizenship and military against them at once....
I truly believe they will do their GRAND SLAM, at some point, which is completely trashing the entire economy, by crashing the stock market........further isolating the top 1% with ALL power and money, and the lower 99% reduced to paupers and peasants. Far worse than the great Depression.........They are hell bent on returning things to the GILDED AGE with Modern ROBBER BARRONS.
He is already progressing to wipe out large sections of employment....School Teachers, Postal Workers, etc etc

The oddest thing, to me, (actually almost humorous) is a couple of groups that are oblivious that they won't be needed when he achieves a Tyranny. Those groups ARE THE VERY GROUPS putting/keeping him in power: The Legislative Branch of the U.S. Government, The Judicial Branch of the Government, and esp the U.S. Supreme Court.
ALL OF WHICH, he will kick to the curb when they have outgrown their usefulness just as he has done his entire life, and particularly in the last 10 years.......
Someone joked the other day, that one of his next "declarations" will be the BAN of Spanish Language Courses, in all schools, public and private.....AND ordering the institution of mandatory Russian Language Courses in K-12........

And yes it is standard for the fascist leader to use everyone to get to power,
then once in office, dump and punish all of them.

The Congress, judges, SC, the media, all of them were compliant enablers
who helped the tyrant steal the election.

And now enable him into turning the country in a fascist dictatorship.

They don't know it but they became totally irrelevant on Nov 5.
He is going after them with a vengeance and will ruin them.

While Trump is cunning, with animal instincts, and able to charm and manipulate people,
he does not have the education, knowledge, interest in all of the topics he is addressing.

Of course, someone has handed him a list of things he must do each day and each week.
And he is dutifully working that list.

I didn't catch the new colors of AF One. Interesting isn't it? Putin's fingerprints on that.

Yes it is Putin and the billionaires' agenda. The billionaires think all the money in the US belongs to them
and they want it all. They see no need to pay for old, young, infirm people.
Or educate or provide healthcare. Everything must be privatized, which is an excuse to loot the system.

I have been joking too about when Russian will become mandatory in the US.

Boeing/ McDonnell Douglas, Lockheed and possibly still General Dynamics.

DoD always plans to buy a lot of aircraft, but always ends up with less. The reason for planning for "lots" of planes is to bring down the price/aircraft, but once the reality of much lower actual procurement quantities kicks in, the cost/aircraft skyrockets.

A number of retired USAF officers become civilian AF procurement officers and you should hear the stories.
Spending millions of dollars on aircraft that take so long to be manufactured they are obsolete by the time
they come off the production line. If you complain to your boss about it you are fired.

Jeez, how vain do you have to be to force a plane to be named after your "presidency?"

Of course, in the end, it will only work three days of the week and will require a devoted crew of thousands to fuel and maintain it.

The Federal Aviation Administration grounded the 737 Max in March of 2019 after 346 people died in a pair of deadly crashes of 737 Max 8 planes. Those crashes were blamed on software problems, but the FAA investigation also found hardware issues, citing an "improper manufacturing process" in some planes.

McDonnell-Douglas was acquired by Boeing years ago. That is the part of the company that makes military aircraft. It developed and produced the F/A-18 which is the main Navy/Marine aircraft after it replaced almost every other mission-unique aircraft (figher, attack, electronic warfare, trainer, etc).

Boeing has one last order for 17 F/A-18s that will keep the production line open into 2027.

that an aircraft's development from start to finish will be a minimum of FIVE YEARS, delaying our Fighter development greatly, vs Locheed which is already building fighter aircraft. THAT should make Putin even happier.

Trump already helped Boeing out immensely in his first term, by ordering ALL of our *AIR* tankers be replaced immediately, and giving the contract to Boeing....(The ones that re-fuel bombers, fighter jets, and helicopters in the air) That alone is an incredible number of planes............

Also, he ordered, in his first term, all of the Military Airborne surveillance/radar planes be replaced. Interestingly, he ordered the current ones destroyed immediately......WOW another humongous ass kiss for Putin........
