Trump Threatens Sanctions On Iranian Oil Buyers After Nuclear Talks Postponed

Source: Huff Post/AP

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — President Donald Trump on Thursday threatened sanctions on anyone who buys Iranian oil, a warning that came after planned talks over Tehran’s rapidly advancing nuclear program were postponed. Trump wrote on social media that “All purchases of Iranian Oil, or Petrochemical products, must stop, NOW!” He said any country or person who buys those products from Iran will not be able to do business with the United States.

The threat came after Oman announced planned nuclear negotiations for this coming weekend had been postponed. A message online from Omani Foreign Minister Badr al-Busaidi made the announcement in a post on the social platform X. “For logistical reasons we are rescheduling the US Iran meeting provisionally planned for Saturday May 3rd,” he wrote. “New dates will be announced when mutually agreed.”

Al-Busaidi, who has mediated the talks through three rounds so far, did not elaborate. Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei issued a statement describing the talks as being “postponed at the request of Oman’s foreign minister.” He said Iran remain committed to reaching ”a fair and lasting agreement.”

Meanwhile, a person familiar with the U.S. negotiators said that America “had never confirmed its participation” in a fourth round of talks in Rome. However, the person said the U.S. expected the talks to occur “in the near future.” The person spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss the closed-door negotiations.

Having purposefully and totally fucked that previous nuclear treaty agreement up, this criminal asshole is wrongheadedly pissed-off that Iran doesn't want to "negotiate" with a dupicitious asshole. Suck on that expensive "egg," Mr. Motherfucker!

including idiotic demands to "drill baby drill" along with OPEC+ finally deciding to start pumping more... RIGHT when the world is about to head into a recession, dropped the price below $60/bbl. I am hoping whatever is left of the Dept. of Energy is BUYING to refill the reserves.

This was as of about 20 minutes ago (it already closed at 4 pm EDT), where an intraday low as down as far around ~$56/bbl -

But that hasn't translated to the actual gasoline prices, let alone to the individual stations. There are still $3+ /gal prices around Philly after they had dropped a couple months ago. They are about to go up again to deal with the more expensive "summer blends".
