Penske Bans Masked White Nationalists After Viral Video Shows Them Harassing Protesters Beside Rented Truck

Penske Truck Rental announced Sunday it has banned members of the White Nationalist group “Patriot Front” from renting its vehicles again after a viral video showed masked men fleeing from a protest in Missouri in one of its trademark trucks.

Videos widely circulated on social media on Saturday showed what appeared to be members of the LGBTQ community confronting Patriot Front members in downtown Springfield.

The masked men, carrying shields and dressed in nearly identical khaki pants and blue shirts, were seen retreating and piling into the back of a yellow Penske rental truck before being driven away.

In a statement released Sunday afternoon, Penske said the group’s actions violated its rental agreement and would not be tolerated. Penske said:

Penske Truck Rental is aware of an incident involving one of its vehicles yesterday in Springfield, Mo. This incident is unacceptable. We strongly condemn these individuals and their actions, which violate our rental agreement. Effective immediately, the individual(s) on the rental agreement are banned from future rentals.

That's how they transport these RW thugs from place to place. There are probably dozens of videos all over the internet showing the suddenly emerging from a rental truck to fan out and spew bullshit and then jump back in and drive away.

Penske is doing what they can, but the truck can be rented by one of the other individuals unless all are identified

4. I came across a post on another site that says what I was thinking.

"Taking action to try and mitigate a bad post that went viral does not remove the fact that the Penske family are hard nosed frumpers!"

So, I hope they can actually do something to contain such uses of their product, but the owners are part of the issue, and therefore are just experiencing some schadenfreude.

I thought that for safety reasons rental trucks couldn't be used to transport people in the cargo area??? Apparently that's not true?
