US asks China to stop Iran from closing Strait of Hormuz

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has called on China to prevent Iran from closing the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world's most important shipping routes.

His comments came after Iran's state-run Press TV reported that parliament had approved a plan to close the Strait but added that the final decision lies with the Supreme National Security Council.

"I encourage the Chinese government in Beijing to call them (Iran) about that, because they heavily depend on the Straits of Hormuz for their oil," Marco Rubio said in an interview with Fox News on Sunday.

"If they [close the Straits]... it will be economic suicide for them. And we retain options to deal with that, but other countries should be looking at that as well. It would hurt other countries' economies a lot worse than ours."

What reason does China have to listen to them? They hold all the fucking cards here. Meanwhile, the complete lack of foreign policy expertise in this regime is so fucking obvious it hurts. They're just bumbling around and pulling shit out of their collective ass, and the whole fucking world can see it.

6. The US dollar is directly connected to the strait of Hormuz.

The transportation of oil though that passage is why our money is called Petrodollars. It's the reason we need far ranging nuclear aircraft carriers and a military that can respond in the area at a moment's notice. The strait must remain open.

All global currency is converted to US dollars for all transactions, at least for now, and closing Hormuz will destroy the value or cause countries to link the Euro or yen in the future. When that happens our dollar will have no backing and collapse. No one will want it.

Don't worry. He has the concept of a plan. And Mexico will pay for it!
