Members of Congress will be able to view unredacted Epstein files next week

Members of Congress will be able to begin reviewing the unredacted version of the Department of Justice’s files on Jeffrey Epstein on Monday morning, according to two sources familiar with the DOJ’s plans.

The review process will take place in person at DOJ, according to a letter to members of Congress obtained by NBC News. The members will be able to review the material on computers at the DOJ offices but not review the physical documents themselves.

The letter states that members can review the documents in person, provided they give DOJ 24 hours' notice. The option at this point is only available to members of Congress — and not their staff. They may take notes, but cannot bring in any electronic devices, the letter said.

The review will only be of the 3 million files currently available to the public, not the extensive trove of more than 6 million documents in total that the DOJ says it has in its possession.

Not nearly what the DOJ has actually redacted, but some of theredactions are legitimate and those can not be released to the public(the legitimate redactions are to protect the victims). So it is legit to only allow members of Congress to see unredacted files.

If the documents, even if currently not editable, were ever in digital editable form, they have had enough time to replace names of the President's friends with other names, including assigning the Clinton's names to events they weren't even around for. Also, for visuals, if you can't have the documents for visuals that aren't in the redacted copies, how does anyone know if they are photoshopped or not? Not even better than nothing in my opinion. Every redacted spot is at the DOJ's replacement.

They can and will see the unredacted original files. But there are many catches in this deal.

They can't make copies, or take photos, or email them out. No cellphones will be allowed in the viewing room. They have to view the documents and write down whatever notes they want to make, because that's all they can bring in or take out of the room. How much can they accomplish within these parameters?

Well. a lot ... if they come prepared and if they know where to look.

This weekend, all the congressional staffers will be going through the redacted files, writing down the numbers of the suspicious or likely pages that might have something juicy. Next week the Congressmen/women will use these staffer notes to hone in on the documents that will hopefully provide context and the "juicy gossip" that we all crave.

I'm expecting to get a huge wave of anonymous leaks by Monday afternoon. Or maybe anytime Tuesday.

The law only allows redactions to protect victims,not to save other people from embarrassment. It's obvious the DOJ redacted the names of hundreds if not thousands of non-victims. All of those redactions are illegal. Somebody needs to compile a list of as many of those names as possible and read them on the floors of Congress.
