House Dem Leader Jeffries: "F*** Donald Trump"
Source: Axios
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) tore into President Trump on Friday for posting a racist video of the Obamas, saying in a clip posted to social media: "F*** Donald Trump."It's a drastic escalation of the rhetoric between the House Democratic leader and the White House amid delicate negotiations on immigration enforcement.
But it's not the first time things have gotten personal between Trump and Jeffries, who clashed last autumn over AI-generated videos Trump posted of Jeffries wearing a sombrero. This time, however, Trump's account posted a now-deleted video on Truth Social depicting former President Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama as apes, drawing harsh criticism from lawmakers in both parties.
"This disgusting video, posted by the so-called president, was done intentionally," Jeffries said in the clip, contradicting the White House's claim that it was an erroneous post by a staffer. "F*** Donald Trump and his vile, racist and malignant behavior. This guy is an unhinged bottom-feeder," the Democratic leader continued. The Obamas, he continued, represent "the best of this country."
Jeffries called for Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.), House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) and other Republicans to "denounce this serial fraudster who's sitting at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue pretending to be the president."

(2,486 posts)Every day, Jeffries, Schumer and other leaders should gather for a press conference where a clear, consistent message of protest is delivered, and each of these sessions should end with a reading from the Constitution:
'The Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive department or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit ... to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office. Thereupon Congress shall decide the issue.... If the Congress ... determines by two-thirds vote of both Houses that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall continue to discharge the same as Acting President; otherwise, the President shall resume the powers and duties of his office'
It is time that the Cabinet must act. Today, not tomorrow, not next week after more people are killed, after more of the taxpayers' money has been misappropriated, after more cities have been invaded by Trump's private army, after more vital international alliances have been trashed. Today. We call on the Cabinet and Vice President to do their duty under the Constitution -- TODAY!
Put the pressure on the Cabinet and the Republicans in Congress. We know they won't act, but that's OK. Keep the spotlight sharply on them. Do this every day, and soon reporters will be asking each Cabinet member, "When is the Cabinet going to meet pursuant to the 25th Amendment? Why have you not done so already? What would the President have to do to make you act?"
