"Trump, who was joined in the East Room by about 50 people from varied backgrounds, hosted the first 'Saving College Sports' roundtable with vice chairs Secretary of State Marco Rubio, New York Yankees president Randy Levine, and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis."

"The group included other politicians, sports celebrities, media executives, conference commissioners, university presidents and chancellors and athletic directors. Those who spoke delivered a similar message: college sports needs federal legislation to restore order in the NIL space and its overall economics."

" 'I will have an executive order within one week, and it will be very all-encompassing,' Trump said. 'And we're going to put it forward, and we're going to get sued, and we're going to see how it plays, okay, but I'll have an executive order which will solve every problem in this room, every conceivable problem, within one week, and we'll put it forward. We will get sued. That's the only thing I know for sure.' "

His "executive crayon pieces" will hardly bind them to any policies unless they choose to allow him to do so. But he'll come out of his dementia on these issues from time to time and demand they make whatever ridiculous changes he and his equally ignorant staff come up with. He'll try to tie Federal funding to the universities to whatever they do and do not do with athletic programs. Probably do away with Title IX women's sports and make NIL issues even worse.

Humoring him is just going to backfire. But, I find it so sickening when he has just killed 175 young school children and left an unarmed torpedoed ship's survivors to drown--even though Hegseth et al KNEW they were unarmed, coming as they were from a training exercise the US was to have participated in with India.

7. Executive Orders are only suppose to pertain to the Executive office.

This is one of the most unconstitutional, illegal acts Congress and the courts let trump get away with. He is basically ruling us by edict through EO's.

No student-athletes attended the meeting. Clearly, the people who control college sports believe players have too much power, freedom and make too much money. They want to return to "the good old days" of college sports, when players were essentially unpaid slaves making money for the folks who own the plantation.
