People to do this for a couple years now. Glad it's finally making sense to more people.

Amazon is basically a giant, money sucking, middleman. All in the name of "convenience". Go straight to the company. Unfortunately, Amazon's other revenue streams like govt contracts, IT, etc. Could help it weather consumer boycotts.

Found the company for our shades…great customer service, prices were better, the representative guided us to even better shades than what we picked, suited location much better.
Bought our greenhouse the same way with the same type of experience with the greenhouse company as the shade place. Even got personalized help on the phone with a representative about parts not being quite right, sent out new parts no charge without me asking, just cuz.

Use Amazon for research…buy from the company directly.

I have found the exact same product on TEMU. I quit using them months ago but am going to signed back up. It takes a little longer to get what you order but you can save up to 50% or more and use your Amazon card to get the points

i look on amazon just to find products that fit my needs, but also look off amazon to (Amazon doesn't have EVERYTHING). The things I find on Amazon I then see if I can buy directly from the company or another retailer. Amazons prices aren't oveall better most times than other sources or direct from company selling. Amazon takes a cut from every product they sell, but they make up some of this by having a more cost effective method of shipping.Often with shipping it is a little more expensive to buy from other sources but a couple bucks is fine with me.

The main draw for Amazon is that you can get things all sent in one order rather than a bunch of smaller orders and multiple shipping charges. It's really kind of the shipping that sets Amazon apart and what their strength is.

from the source company, at a lower price than I paid previously on Amazon! I would consider using them again if it was a big enough emergency, but I’ve been avoiding them for months and will not be renewing Prime when it comes up for renewal later this year.

I don’t need everything delivered the next day from the asshole who destroyed The Washington Post.

ETA: I also am looking forward to receiving my new e-reader from Kobo (a Canadian company!) next week. No Kindle for me.

Books and videos.

I had lots of perks due to the multiple decades of use, reviews, corporate purchases..etc.

I called amazon the day I found out Bezos betrayal of the republic.

I had a simple statement and request,

“End my account and remove ALL my data from your systems.”

I repeated my request until told it could not be done that easy.

I asked for their supervisor, when sup took phone, I said, “I know there is a script with link you can send me to PERMANENTLY delete all my account information once you determine I have no outstanding orders, send me that link, you are required to send me that link if I request it, please send me the link, Jeff Bezos is a fascist traitor to the United States.”

I had the link within 2 minutes.

I never looked back and my spending has gone way down.

Just saying, you’d be surprised what you can do without, I know I was…

Peace

You have to get to senior support and then request all your information to be removed. Then tell them you know they can send you a link to delete your data, tell them you explicitly requested that link.

Repeat until the supervisor sends it, be calm, be respectful and repeat as needed.

... while at the same time Walmart employees took over $2.5 in social services and programs.

Your tax dollars puts billions into the Walmart pockets.

Next time you get a bottled water, figure out if it's a Nestles company.

Nowadays I use Amazon to get info on a book, then head to isbns.co.nz with the ISBN numbers to find a better/cheaper vendor. Sadly, there are still several things I can only find on Amazon, but I've been putting off any purchases. They are actually sold by Amazon partners, so maybe they can be bought elsewhere, but some are pretty scarce.

Today I ordered some products from TEMU. While searching for items, I found similar or the exact items on Amazon. Amazon prices were 2 to 3 times higher in prices. It might take a bit longer to get a delivery but with the boycott and everything else, I can live with that. I have ordered from TEMU earlier last year and had no complaints. Items that I complained about were refunded without shipping back. Do your own research and give it a try
