I happened to Google the name of my Dr that was assigned to me in the ER when I arrived here yesterday from Vandalia.
Please Google Dr. Thailandria Daniels and be as astounded as I am.
I knew none of this as I arrived here of course but she treated me as wonderfully as I've ever been treated by any medical professional. This is St. Louis on a Saturday night, there were at least six ambulances in bays at various stages of unloading, I had to go through a metal detector and even the little bag I had was searched for drugs, weapons or other contraband.
Dr Daniels was an oasis of care, compassion, empathy and yes, love amid this sea of chaos.
I was a nobody in her space and she immediately made me somebody.
Her life story is amazingly similar to mine, a product of abuse, multiple living arrangements etc.
That Dr Daniels was my Dr. had to be intentional. I refuse to believe that all of these coincidences keep happening as pure chance.
Thanks to all of you for the many seeds that you keep planting, watering and sending my way
Miracles are all around us so thank you for yet another one from you all.
Love, John

(2,148 posts)They put this hose in me to drain these fluids.
Through all of the pain and discomfort, I can't help to feel blessed and protected.
I will be catching up on my thank you notes tomorrow and Tuesday.

(2,148 posts)Me too.
There's a gentleman next to.me that they can't get IV to start and that feels like torture to me.
I feel so bad for him. Five sticks for one IV.

(67,412 posts)Dehydrated perhaps?
Did they tell you wtf they're waiting for to get that fluid removed?
Stay sane, John. We are all pulling for you!

I'm surrounded by the celebration of all that has been, followed by the anxiety of what's coming, which is more of a PTSD fear of the unknown if that makes sense.
I'm afraid of more pain, because that's the one constant that's been so present in all forms my whole life.

(4,603 posts)Weve had enough of it, eh? When you get overwhelmed with fear or pain imagine your body with many roots deeply connected to the earth. Rest in mamas love and nurturance for you. Imagine the light of the father sky/sun shining down into your entire body radiating and dancing with every cell. As these energies meet inside us they fuse and become one. Our bodies are the miraculous receptacles of this beautiful union. Gratitude for sure. Grace is the highest form of gratitude.
Have a day filled with grace JM

(2,148 posts)You and so many others have been so lovingly present with me throughout this journey. I can't explain how lonely I've been in past situations where I did feel I wasn't worthy of others love.
I stop myself from feeling like a Jerry Springer tv guest, as I've always had really harsh views of people violating their own modesty.
Believe it or not, I feel overwhelmed sometimes because I've never had so many friends and I'm afraid I'll fail you by forgetting to honor your individual friendships.
Some of us are on first name basis, some of us are on a ID basis with the same intimacy as the others.
There is one member I speak with on the telephone, which has always been my preference because I type like someone who never took typing lol. I never did.
Yet each relationship, has its foundation in a recognition, a bond of relating on a soulful level and that is always genuine and in my world, worthy of the term friend.
Please accept my friendship as you all will be guiding me in ways I cannot see, teaching me things I have no other way of knowing, and allowing us at new points to walk hand in hand, eye to eye, knowing that we've both/all shared our lives journey in ways that would make Jesus, Mohammed, Buddha, and so many other spiritual guides proud.
Individually, we are one drop. Together, we are an ocean. - Ryunosuke Satoro
Together our pebbles meet again and again as CP has referenced amongst others and the creation and recreation and rerecreation of flows emanating from us as a result is pure magic miracle.
Thank you
Your friend,
John

I love our simple DU mails, almost sharing family updates as cousins or distant brothers and sisters may.
You all have have lifted me in some of the simplest and yet profound ways, you've reminded me to savor what a moment holds, from savoring the ice cold wiggly flavor of a bite or orange jello that I just really enjoyed to the profundity of the impact of a single act, word, moment if allowed, to travel the universe and find random connection points that will forever change me or you, or someone inspired due to that moment.
I hired a 21 year old kid to work in timeshare marketing 10 years ago and he had enough issues that he ended up having to be rehired a couple more times if you catch my drift. He reached out to me this winter and told me how my embrace and belief in him eventually changed his life.
I'm celebrating his immense success selling Subaru's in Golden Colorado the right way.
" Be yourself, be honest and be curious"
I love Subaru's golden retriever commercials and love that the are very generous as a corporate donor.
Help people, love people and give. Like Og Mandino says in The Greatest Salesman in the World.
I love him because he's working to overcome his demons and he still has that child's heart that is idealistic and believes you can succeed the right way.
You all do that for me every day, and I hope I give some of that back in a usable way for you.
You've reminded me how joyful writing in love is.
You've promised me that your words shine in that same love. I don't know what tomorrow will bring, but this ocean of drops will awaken one morning and will have achieved something beyond extraordinary. You all covered extraordinary a long time ago.
