Between them - The Mets.

I grew up a Yankees fan, lived across the Harlem River but not that far away from Yankees Stadium; several Avenues west, but only about 3 blocks north at first, then 11 blocks north, finally 1 mile and 1/4. Then I moved to Brooklyn. Now in The Bronx about 3 miles north.

When I was a tween we visited The '64, '65 NYC World's Fair. Shea Stadium was across the Newish No 7 Subway train Staion a big wooden bridge, and brand spanking new!

Over time Mad Magazine made such fun of them, and Casey Stengel, that I began to root for them.

In summer 2022 I lived for 3 months 6 blocks north of YS. If I was walking home from the big supermarket right above 161st St I'd pass by the back of the car garage by YS. Before that garage I could see the top east facing side of the stadium. Very cool.

On game night walking home the same way on home game nights- I'd hear the crowd roar! Great fun.
