(12,484 posts)Harry ONeal the dog and Lightin Magee the cat loved chasing each other. Harry would chase Lightin from the house to up a tree. Lightin would race back down the tree face forward and chase the dog back to the house. They would do this until both were a pile of cat/dog panting and happy.
We had a really cold winter for us, ice and snow with the temperature dropping to 11 which was unheard of in this part of Texas. Harry with his very short coat was allowed in the house. He laid down by the wood stove and his buddy Lightin slept on top of him.. I wish we had a picture of that sweet image.

(491 posts)the caretaker of my Dad's house had a lovely boxer. I had this whole plan for how to slowly introduce everyone.
My second day there, I couldn't find the cats. Looked everywhere until I finally found them, curled up with the boxer next to her belly like kittens curl up with their moms. Everyone was sleeping peacefully.

(24,962 posts)Occasionally, if he's in a good mood, he'll allow Foggy to lay down next to him on the bed and stay there for quite awhile. He also boops his brother out of our laps ocasionally too. But every time Foggy comes in from outside, Finley is right there sniffing him and allows Foggy to sniff him, walk under him and wrap his tail around Finley's neck.
Our old cat and dog were best friends, they were always together grooming each other and sleeping together. They were adorable!
