My favorite episodes were the ones that spent a lot of time on the supporting cast.

I can't stand the character of Erin (the receptionist after Pam). She's so goofy and air-headed.

He's an ultra conservative control freak who's borderline abusive to the kids. He does stuff like take away a 6 year old girl's doll, smack the boy and put secret cameras in the smoke detectors to spy on his family. He did mellow out a bit in season 5 at least.

He's just a dick, and apparently Chase didn't have to do much acting to pull that off.

Glad they got rid of that asshole.

…so I don’t think that counts, since most villains are supposed to be unlikable. I think the original question was more like which character that was supposed to be sympathetic did you find unlikeable?

Bones herself often rubs me the wrong way. Her insistence in her own superiority can get infuriating.

with Vicki a close second. Julie was such a Little Miss Perfect goody two-shoes and Vicki was annoying. She was cute, but annoying. I think they were trying to make her into a mini-Julie.

I never watched The Love Boat when it was on because I worked nights. I only saw it years later in reruns. I didn't love the show, but I watched it because I like cruising and I would get a kick out of seeing some of the guest stars when they were just starting out.

I always watched the show because although it was not consistently funny, it was hilarious more often than not. I used to think Mike was the weakest character, but he eventually grew on me.

I think every character was funny in their own way.

I wasn't too impressed with Molly quitting her teaching job to become a writer, though.

34. Diane Chambers was someone trying to be someone they're not

Diane Chambers was middle-class and, although graduating from college, was a pretentious intellectual. She reminds me of Hyacinth Bucket from the British TV program Keeping Up Appearances. Hyacinth was born into a working class family, married a man who was middle class, and thought of herself as being upper middle class. She pronounced her married last name as "Bouquet" because "Bucket was too common.

Diane Chambers is the same as Hyacinth Bucket in that she she pretends and believes she's someone above everyone else..

What make for good comedy in both characters is when they get knocked down when they try to show their superiority over others.

I'm pretty sure that character was universally hated.
I wanted to reach through the TV and kill him, just to get him off my screen.

He was so bad, it was like watching fingernails on a chalkboard.

Everyone liked him because he showed his butt, but not me. He had absolutely no personality whatsoever and besides, I think David Caruso is a terrible actor. I much preferred Andy Sipowitz. And Bobby Simone (Jimmy Smits) - oh baby! He definitely did not hurt the eyes.
