Imagine the smell of fresh baked bread, pastries, smoked sausages and stewed cabbage. For sixty years Kramarczuk’s has represented the quality and taste of Eastern European foods in Minneapolis and beyond… and it all started with a dream.

In the late 1940s, Wasyl Kramarczuk and his wife Anna traveled from their beloved Ukraine to the United States in hopes of achieving the American dream, and after years of hard work, they founded Kramarczuk’s. Wasyl with his skills in sausage making, Anna with her skills in cooking and baking, and their idea of making the best possible products, created the Kramarczuk’s that today is considered a Minneapolis Landmark.

2. I'm headed up to Mpls on Wednesday for a couple of weeks.

Always stop by for a lunch, as well as grabbing some sausages for the grill.
Will be dropping in at Holy Land also for a nice dinner.

Just outside of downtown St. Paul in the heart of the West Seventh neighborhood sits the fabled Mancini’s Char House, which opened there more than 70 years ago. I've got almost two weeks, so I might do that. I usually only head over to St. Paul to take in a Saints game or hit Cecil's Deli. Otherwise mostly stay on the other side of the river.

10. Used to be a great Jewish deli towards or in Edina

Decades ago, There used to be a great Jewish deli just a bit west of downtown
Minneapolis, on the south side of that ‘highway’ that ruins east/west.

but don't know if they're still there.

I love it. Don't/can't get there often enough. And I always take some sausage home for later.
