Two shots to get the party started. Now a Prince Edward. Scotch, Lillet Blanc, and Drambui. Nice and smoky. My Scotch here is Ardbeg. Not my favorite single-malt. Im just trying to use it up. As a mixer is best.
100 days in. Trying not to succumb to despair.
I need you
And I love you all

(23,553 posts)First, a split of Chandon champagne because I closed on a beachfront apartment in Coronado, Panama this afternoon. For tax reasons, we established a foundation to own the property and it's called Dos Panamaniacs!
Question No 1: Was it a good idea? ( We think it was a perfect decision but I'm open minded unlike some president.)
Next, I'll be moving over to Johnny Walker Black on the rocks. Just a couple of tumblers worth. I don't want to get too loaded because I have an early flight home tomorrow.
Question No 2: I've never had Ardberg. Where is it from? I guess you like it! I must sample it, of course.
I can't tell you what my nightcap will be because it's illegal in some parts.
Question No. 3: Why are there different laws everywhere?
Party on, Aristus! Enjoy your weekend.

(69,812 posts)But its smokier and less subtle than those other two. Not as tasty. So I use it as a mixture.
As for Johnny Walker. Im sort of doing an around the world tour of blended whiskeys. Right now, Im on Canada. Enjoying the hell out of Crown Royal. And Canadian Club is next. But Im really looking forward to starting down the Johnny Walker path . Ive heard good things.

(3,142 posts)Carnival. Bussed to David and had driver to Lost and Found Hostel. My niece ran the place. From there to Bocas del Toro with BIL. Flew back to old city for a few days.
Seems like Panama has a lot going for it.
Think you made a good choice.

(4,306 posts)Drove 11 hours today, Provincetown to Niagara Falls. For me, its Southern Tier IPA. Ahhhhh.
So, have you ever had Welsh whiskey? Penderyn is fabulous.
Aristus
(69,812 posts)My primary ancestry is Welsh. Ill have to show my second-hand Welsh-American patriotism by drinking Welsh whiskey.
Easterncedar
(4,306 posts)The story is the Methodists and their prohibition killed a very ancient distillery culture. Penderyn is one of the oldest revival whiskeys, but like 20 years only. They do a great job. Its like drinking gold.
Aristus
(69,812 posts)Ill let you know if I find a bottle, and give you my impressions.
Easterncedar
(4,306 posts)I was given a bottle for my birthday. It came from Canada.

(3,727 posts)A few plastics. Glass and pyrex for the microwave. You do not put steel in the microwave.

(123,507 posts)Or a funny one. A friend and I were on vacation, MANY years ago. Our room had a microwave, amoung other lovely amenities. I came back from a solo outing one afternoon, and she told me that the microwave was not working. She had been trying to heat up some take-out from the night before, and said the microwave just kept shutting off. Thank goodness, as she was trying to heat it in its aluminum container. I was surprised that she did not know that little fact, although, to be fair, it was MANY years ago, and they were still fairly new. Fortunately, no damage was done, and I made a mental note not to assume that everyone knew how to use them.
