My latest GoFundMe Update

Hi everyone, let me wish all of you a very Christmas and Holiday season, with a special prayer that this new year brings resolution, peace and healing to each of you.
As for my situation, in early November my reconsideration appeal was denied as expected. We filed an immediate appeal and now are awaiting a court date where the system is much more favorable to people in my situation.
I'm not saying my case has been denied because it's a back issue, just that cases with back issues have a much higher rejection rate prior to court involvement.
As for my overall situation, I am terribly late in updating my GFM, as I lost my very best friend to aggressive Melanoma the day after Thanksgiving.

To say Rory was my very best friend is an understatement, as our lives have intersected in so many ways over the last 30 years, so much so that I'm getting daily triggers as to our interactions covering all subject almost every day for all those years.
I was blessed enough to be able to spend a little more than a week with Rory and his family, with what I can only describe as a God-blessed series of moments and activities that celebrated his life and passions.
Needless to say, his loss has left a huge hole in my heart, and my grief has been emotionally crippling. The joy he brought to my life almost daily makes this time now feel so lonely.

In regards to my case, I had consultations with another neurosurgeon, and he plainly stated that further surgeries would only make things worse than they already are.
My heart seems to be doing fine as best as I can tell, I go to cardio rehab once or twice a week as best as my back can handle it.
The only thing we are waiting for is the hearing date, having the opportunity to have an impartial judge look at all the evidence and see the inherent contradictions on their reports and recommendations. They cannot both be true.

I still have the higher costs right now due to the ongoing therapy appointments where my arrangement is simply that I keep the gas tank full and get to use the vehicle to go to my appointments.
As we approach the end of this year, and all of the dramatic events that have saved my life, protected my life, and kept me housed, I can only say thank you for these last 13 months of help and pray that resolution comes quickly in the new year.

Please give if you can, as my monthly expenses for January and February will stay around $1400 each month factoring in the added gas costs.

Every one near me and dear to me will get a hand written note or email from me for Christmas, as that's what's in the budget lol.
Seriously, words from the heart are always priceless, and therefore, one of the greatest gifts one can give, or receive.

Thank you for your ongoing help, if you would like to make your donation a loan, please let me know in a GFM email or directly at jmckusick2@gmail.com and I will gladly agree to repayment terms upon success in my case.
God bless you all, please have a very Merry Christmas, may the joy of His Birth bring light to our souls.
With immense feelings of humility and gratitude, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.
Love, John

Wish I could donate more.
Added to my little donation are my prayers.
Now, don't forget on New Years Day to eat your blackeyed peas, ham, collards, and cornbread! Mom swore it brings a bountiful new year and I am not going to argue with Mom!

Have you reached out to your AG and state representatives? I ask because I was turned down, even though Jones I should be getting it. It was recommended the AG could possibly do something. I have still not heard back from him, but I also reached out to my senators. With that, I did not ever speak to disability again. My senator sent me a note with an attachment saying I was approved.

I am not saying you will get the same results, but it is free and you habe nothing to lose. They let me know I will be assessed, again, in three years, to make sure I am still disabled. Anyway, I know this can be tough. I hope maybe this might make it a little easier for you. If you do go this route and it works, please let us know. I hope your Go Fund Me brings you enough money. I am roofing for you.
