Grizzly bear cub in Banff eyes approaching train.
Sadra Semnani Rahbar

Trains have killed several grizzly bears over the years in Canada’s Banff National Park, so it can be stressful to observe the iconic bruins on railways.

The accompanying footage, shared Wednesday via Instagram, shows a grizzly bear cub on the same track as an approaching train, and momma bear foraging just yards away.

"It was a close call, but they dodged the train!" Sadra Semnani Rahbar exclaimed in his video description. "I was lucky enough to watch this beautiful mama grizzly and her cub snacking dandelions alongside the railroad in Banff National Park."

Obviously the engineers saw the little one and sounded the horn a couple of times. Glad for both them and the engineers that the cub got out of the way. I'm sure they would have been heartbroken if it hadn't have moved. Some of those trains have hundreds of cars.
