As with most Arvo Part pieces, his use of strings is both expressive and intense. Unfortunately, there were also a few bars about two-thirds through the piece where it became "muddled" which I've also noted in some of Part's repertoire. He remains an interesting composer to listen to on occasion, but I doubt that his works will uphold him as a great composer. His influence on religious-themed compositions is undeniable through the past few decades.

I'm fond of them, yes, because of a spiritual connotation also.
