        quite a bit in the Ozarks at my Mom and Dad's place, as well as my grandmother's place. You could spend all day just watching the flowers and the visitors to each flower...

        Their presence was supposed to indicate snakes nearby. Southern WV.
Edited to ask:  Do you know why it's called a "widow skimmer?"  Is it supposed to indicate widows nearby?

        Initially, I saw this photo on my iPhone, and there I was able to expand it for greater visibility. 
And your sharp, detailed photo held up superbly throughout my invasive tactics. Again I say, WOW.
