5. It was a tourist trap, folks. And the restaurant food was mediocre at best.

I lived 20 years in S.F. when FW was thriving and I NEVER WENT THERE OR ATE THERE expect to take ... tourists.

6. The Pandemic didn't help AND NEITHER HAS TRUMP....

I LIVE AND WORKED at fisherman's warf at what used to be an ART gallery by the cable car turn around, I know the places he has gone to and believe me I know TRUMP is making it nearly impossible for TOURISTS to want to come to the city, not to mention FOX NEWS SHOWING stores and cars being broken into, Even if the crime has subsided, PEOPLE STILL DO not want to come to the city, We had many Candian visitors as well as people from Asia and Europe. TRUMP IS TURNING this country into a shit hole country and since tourism drives the city, its way down ... the prices here are still expensive and when the TARRIFFS go into effect , it will kill a lot of business...

7. Property prices skyrocketed when tech bros moved in.

It became to expensive NOT to sell. A '5000 sf lot with a tear down house was going for $1.5 mil in 2015. Also the pandemic emptied out office buildings and workers worked remotely and stayed 50+ mi. away in the suburbs. '19-'21 devastated tourism.

8. I don't know how it would compare with inflation, but I took my wife on a whale watching excursion out of SF in 2001 and

it was $65 apiece. Not cheap, but not out of this world. I looked up the same trip (Farallon Islands excursion) and it was $225 apiece in 2021. We took a 2 hour trip out of Monterey Bay for $35 apiece.
A lunch of fish sandwith, fries and a drink for 4 was $100.
I have read the tech takeover has been responsible. Embarcadero Dr. from Alameda to Jack London Square in Oakland, is now a homeless encampment.
Sadly I think it is just a preview for the rest of us if Trump and his annointed heir to the throne stay in power.
