D.C.-area forecast: Summery pattern settles in with a daily risk of showers and storms.

Afternoon highs should approach 90 in many spots today with late-day showers and thunderstorms possible.

Express forecast
Today: Mostly sunny, very warm, humid. Chance of late-day storms. Highs: Mid-80s to near 90.
Tonight: Chance of evening storms, mild, humid. Lows: Mid- to upper 60s.
Tomorrow: Partly to mostly cloudy, scattered p.m. showers/storms likely. Highs: Mid-80s.

I keep a small umbrella in my bag just in case. Rain is common right around 5 or so in the summer.
