Rock Island County Sheriff Darren Hart not seeking re-election, announces plans to retire after 33 years with department
ROCK ISLAND Co., Ill. (KWQC) - Rock Island County Sheriff Darren Hart says he will not be seeking re-election.
Sheriff Hart said after careful consideration he is choosing not to seek re-election as he plans to retire after serving with the Rock Island County Sheriff’s Office for 33 years.
Sheriff Hart won the election for Rock Island County Sheriff in 2022, beating Republican Patrick Moody.
Sheriff Hart lives in Hampton, the town he grew up in, with his wife of 28 years and daughter, his campaign website says.
