Think Snow!

Just a few fragments are left of previous snowstorms here just south of the White Mountains. It has been nice having warmer than usual weather this year (minus that freakish Halloween storm of course), but I think the time has come to get some snowcover on the ground.

Why? It boosts our economy (and boy do we need jobs!), we must have a white Christmas, and it is just so beautiful and exhilarating to get fresh snowfall.

So let's put our collective psyche to work again this year and Think Snow!!

Skiers and snowboarders last month were dancing and chanting around a 45-foot-high bonfire as they paid homage to Ullr, the Norse god of winter. Frustrated with the balmy weather and scant precipitation, the(y)...tossed old skis into the flames as a sacrificial gesture...(and)...prayed...(for) heavy snow to their fair mountain town.

...(T)he snow arrived within a matter of days. And it hasn't stopped...

We got about four inches where I am right now (S/SW part of the state). I expect there will be more up north when I get home tomorrow.

This will give a much-needed boost for the winter ski season. And maybe Lake Winnepesaukee (sp?) will finally freeze over!
