Gonna be nasty today, switching over to ice at noon. Prepare. Expect to lose power. (Original Post) NNadir Jan 25 OP
Good luck! I'd much rather have below-zero temperatures than ice. Or ICE. Ocelot II Jan 25 #1

Because this report says this storm will probably miss us.

A weekend storm is expected to largely miss the area, bringing only scattered snow showers for most. The main impact is possible on the eastern end of Long Island, where 1 to 3 inches of snow, strong winds, rough surf, and minor coastal flooding are possible.

You were predicting did not materialize, at least in Northern NJ.

PSEG sent an email saying this, which I double checked on Ting’s outage tracker. According to them there was only one and it was 114 miles away and did not affect many people.

...preparation but we were very pleased to be wrong about the predictions.

My wife is big into being prepared.

When one predicts a disaster that doesn't come there is nothing to feel but happy.

We of course have memories of power outages in ice storms and tropical storms. It's happened to my poor wife twice on a birthday in different years, and has become something of a family joke.
