Manhasset, Port Washington voters approve school budgets, elect unopposed BOE candidates
Manhasset voters approved the school districts $118.9 million budget for the 2026-27 school year on Tuesday, May 19, and elected Jenna Rizzo to the Board of Education in an uncontested race, according to results released after polls closed.
The proposed budget passed 636-243, while Proposition No. 2 passed 693-179. In the Board of Education race, Jenna Rizzo received 688 votes.
The adopted budget totals $118,948,591, an increase of about $3.9 million, or 3.39%, from the current years $115 million budget. The districts tax levy will rise 3.44%, remaining within the districts allowable tax levy limit, according to budget documents.
District officials said the budget will maintain current academic programs while continuing investments in elementary math and literacy support, expanded secondary school course offerings, technology upgrades and student wellness initiatives.
