Related: About this forumNow Public!! Yay! Here's the video from my local No Kings Rally
It's the live feed video on Facebook, which I hate but I don't call the shots.
You can watch it if you log in or create an account.
It was organized by WOW which is Women Organizing For Wilmington (NC) which I have been marching with since 2013. It was the largest crowd we've ever had.
Paraphrasing the group description: It's a goup for progressive women and men of Wilmington, NC. Its dedicated to advancing progressive political causes. It is also a place we use for building community with the men and women supporting and organizing events for important causes in New Hanover County.
We are a well organized, strong, politically persuasive group that I'm very grateful to be able to participate with and support. Every town should have a group like this, imo.
I am also deeply thankful for this group at DU and all of the strong feminist voices of DU. Thank you all so very much.
Estimated crowd size: ~5K

(554 posts)Lived on on Ann Street and later on Grace. Both were a few blocks from Downtown. Doorknocked for Hilary and had the honor of shaking Bill Clinton's hand when he campaigned for her in Wilmington.
Don't have fb but hubby does does, will check it out on his account.

Thanks so much for saying hi! I actually don't live in Wilmington but it's where I hang out. I'm in an adjacent county on a farm. But I am very familiar with the streets you mentioned.
So cool you got to meet President Clinton!

(554 posts)There is so much history in Wilmington. The first black newspaper was around the corner on 7th street. There is also a little museum on the main street leaving town around 8th street that documents the Wilmington massacre. I'm ashamed to say I knew nothing about til I lived there in 2012. Hubby and I walked all over that area so much history.
