What to know about Starbucks' staffing plans for its Nashville hub
Starbucks has started recruiting for the 2,000 jobs it plans to create in its new downtown office in Nashville, Tennessee — and the company wants locals to fill the bulk of its six-figure roles.
Executives from Starbucks Corp., alongside state and city officials, announced on Tuesday the company’s plans for its new “eastern U.S. headquarters” in Nashville. Starbucks has signed a lease for the full 250,000 square feet of office space in downtown’s Peabody Union development.
Over the next five years, Starbucks expects to have 2,000 support jobs located in its Nashville hub, which will be “a complement” to the company’s global headquarters in Seattle, according to a company news release. The company plans to invest $100 million in its Nashville operations.
Of those anticipated new jobs, around 1,200 will be in IT, according to Mayor Freddie O’Connell.

Some RWNJs in the local media have used this story to say Seattle a bad place for business. I don't think the upper management matters as much as many think they do. The real money Starbucks earns is from their frontline workers in the stores.
