Spokane County special election results show two school levies falling

SPOKANE, Wash. — Two school funding measures on the Spokane County ballot for the April 28 special election are failing.

In the East Valley School District, Proposition No. 1 is falling short by a narrow margin. The results show 3,275 votes for yes and 3,321 votes for no. Turnout in that district reached 32.56% with 6,596 ballots cast from 20,258 registered voters.

In the Nine Mile Falls School District, Proposition No. 1 is also failing. The levy drew 430 yes votes and 492 no votes. Turnout was 38.85% with 922 ballots cast from 2,373 registered voters.

Countywide, 7,518 ballots were cast out of 22,631 registered voters. That put overall turnout at 33.22%.
