Woodinville council to vote on aquatic center project agreement

A proposed aquatic center in Woodinville will be up for discussion Tuesday when the City Council considers approval of an agreement that will allow grant funds to be released for the project.

The city is set to vote on a non-binding memorandum of understanding with the Northshore Parks and Recreation Service Area, which has overseen planning for the proposed facility.

Woodinville has closed on the purchase of two parcels near downtown intended to provide 3.4 acres for the project, which still needs voter approval before construction could begin.

Planning and design work must be completed before voters can decide whether to approve funding for the full project. Planning and design efforts will provide a clearer picture of the aquatic center’s price tag.
