Eau Claire City Council to vote on free bus rides for April election, Earth Day

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) - Two local organizations are hoping to give you a free transit ride on two different days.

On Tuesday’s Eau Claire City Council agenda, council members will vote on a resolution to accept a monetary donation of $300 from JONAH or “Joining Our Neighbors Advancing Hope.”

The money would be used to provide free bus rides on election day on Tuesday, April 7, 2026. In addition, JONAH intends to sponsor fare-free paratransit rides and would work with the paratransit contract service provider to be billed directly.

JONAH started offering free rides to the polls during the November 2024 election.
