Canceling the fireworks would be an indirect admission that there is a problem. As long as the world sits back and allows conservatives/the right deny or pretend climate change is not real they will continue to do so.

Neither of them gives a toss about loss of life, property, or animals in the fires as long as they can keep raking in donations from miners and developers.

Deputy NSW Premier John Barilaro, not normally one you'd associate with words like decency, has come out against it now.

I signed the petition, which is now over 261,000, mainly because it's a way of showing solidarity with those who have lost so much. There's not much more we can do, but to party seems rather insensitive.
