'Quite a calm koala': marsupial gets behind the wheel after being rescued from Australian freeway

Adelaide woman Nadia Tugwell put the koala in her car after it caused a multi-vehicle crash by ‘stomping’ on to the freeway

"A koala crossing one of South Australia’s busiest freeways has led to a six-car pile-up as drivers abandoned their vehicles to mount a rescue of the “calm” marsupial.

A male driver reportedly was the first person to stop his car to try to rescue the koala before 7am. His car was then hit from behind, causing a chain reaction.

So glad the koala wasn't hurt. Can't help smiling at his antics - no idea of the devastation he's caused, of course. Adorable!

And butter wouldn't melt in his mouth ...

So much harm has been done to them, including destruction of habitat, it's rather a delight to see them score a few points for the team!
