Fenway Park employees vote overwhelmingly to authorize labor strike

Updated: 5:44 PM EDT Jun 15, 2025

BOSTON —
Local 26 workers at Boston's Fenway Park have authorized a labor strike on Sunday in response to Aramark, the company that employs the workers.

According to a statement from UNITE HERE Local 26, a contract between workers and food company Aramark expired on Dec. 31, 2024, and a new contract has been unsuccessfully in the bargaining stages since the beginning of 2025.

The workers, whose positions include beer sellers, cashiers, cooks, souvenir vendors and others, have been unable to come to terms on certain issues.

"The reason this is happening is because Fenway and the management do not respect our members and do not respect the workers here," Local 26 president Carlos Aramayo said. "We are today to send a message to Aramark, to send a message to Fenway, to say listen enough is enough, come to the bargaining table, settle this contract, or there will be a strike."
