(52,951 posts)Is that variant more or less contagious than previous variants? Is it more or less deadly? Those are the two issues I'm concerned with. If we get one that is as contagious as Omicron and as deadly as Delta we are going to see a real mess.

(52,951 posts)I just read several articles on it and this seems to be the variant that my neighbor got at the end of Jan. He has long haul, was out of work for a month, had to go to the hospital for a few days and he was fully vaxxed and boosted.

(27,443 posts)I'm surprised by the numbers in South Korea. I thought they were doing so well but I guess I was wrong since they are leading the world in new cases.
Honestly, I haven't been keeping up lately. I just needed a mental health break from all the bad news. ❤

(27,443 posts)for each measured category depending on the time frames used to both report and aggregate the data. Also, each state has their own reporting standards and various reports don't always include the most recent numbers.
As with any scientific research, trending and tracking information is sometimes intended to provide loose representations and doesn't always focuses on a finite number values. ❤
