when i lived with my mom, she planted a trumpet vine to attract the hummers and the bees .

Beautiful and there are several cultivars in red, orange, yellow. And a very enthusiastic grower.

Haven't seen many birds and bees this year. Gotta look at back 'yard' to see what's happening there; these are north-facing, and haven't see a single hummer yet..(Don't USUALLY see more than 1 or 2.)

it spread like COVID. Roots from plant started popping up in my crawlspace. I had a hell of a time killing that plant. I ended up repeatedly using tree root killer two or three years before I finally killed it.
