3. That is a sign of trust, comfort, and safety when an animal exposes their soft belly to that extent.

The instinct is to roll up in a ball to protect and defend the soft areas as they doze off.

That animal knows it is at home,... safe and comfy absent impending attacks.

5. I adopted Dave and his brother Chet in December.

Chet has always been outgoing, but at first Dave was shy and skittish and spent most of his time under the bed. Gradually he's been relaxing more and more, and now he sleeps on his back, so I guess he's finally decided he's really home!
