How do you handle finances in your relationship?

Joint accounts only?

One person hands the other a check to pay a share of the monthly bills?

then we each also have 2 accounts with our work credit union. He has a "vacation club" and a regular account. I have a "Christmas club" and a regular account. The "club" accounts are only disbursed 1x a year (Oct for the Xmas club and March for the Vacation club), but they earn higher interest. Those aren't "joint" accounts, although we are both signatories on each others and can withdrawal or request balances.

Monthly bills come out of our checking, and only what is needed for bills is transferred into checking.
