The September equinox, or autumnal equinox, will occur on Monday, September 22, 2025, at 2:19 p.m. EDT.

This event marks the astronomical start of fall in the Northern Hemisphere, bringing shorter days and longer nights as the sun crosses the Earth's equator.

Show that as of 5 am Eastern, several places in ME and northern NH/VT/NY are already at/below freezing.
