(103,805 posts)Colder than usual for a lot of people. I have lived somewhere near, on or north of the 45th most of my life, I have more winter wear than summer clothes, more winter boots than regular shoes.
It has been kind if off and on with winter here this year, one week it's cold and snowy the next it's raining and in far above freezing. Used to be that when winter came, it was here until spring. That doesn't happen at this latitude on this continent anymore.

(5,545 posts)Thursday night. This front looks like it will be a few degrees warmer here. The mangoes will rebloom, hopefully this will be the last of the temperatures below 40° here, although late January to mid February is usually colder.

What is really disturbing me is the prediction popping up on my phone weather that we could get 14" of snow next Sunday!!! It's not unusual for us to get 2-4" in a storm once or twice in a winter, but in the 25 years I've lived in the Triangle area of NC, I can't remember ever getting more than 8-10".
