update on Dawn

she is still in intensive care. Has regained consciousness, has a broken back, but still has movement. Has numerous contusions, some internal organ damage. Concussion. It was a hit and run driver. She is responding to family. Thanks for thoughts and prayers. Forgive me if this comes up twice in threads, wasn't sure if I posted right earlier. I deleted one post. But thanks again.

5. Thank God she woke up

I've seen people in a persistent vegetative state and it is a total care nightmare. Her long rehab will be tough, but there are a lot of treatment options for head injuries to relearn or regain any lost cognition. Her poor broken bones. Man, oh, man. What a difficult time for both of you. More hugs...

and praying for her since your other post. I'm so glad to hear that she is conscious now.
Her recovery will be a long and difficult one
so it's good she has a good friend in her
support group!

This hits all to close to me. My sister was killed in Florida by a drunk driver.
She, too, was riding a bike. I am so glad to read Dawn has regained consciousness and
her family is with her. Do keep us posted as to her progress.
