Bereavement
Related: About this forumupdate on Dawn
she is still in intensive care. Has regained consciousness, has a broken back, but still has movement. Has numerous contusions, some internal organ damage. Concussion. It was a hit and run driver. She is responding to family. Thanks for thoughts and prayers. Forgive me if this comes up twice in threads, wasn't sure if I posted right earlier. I deleted one post. But thanks again.

(19,288 posts)I've seen people in a persistent vegetative state and it is a total care nightmare. Her long rehab will be tough, but there are a lot of treatment options for head injuries to relearn or regain any lost cognition. Her poor broken bones. Man, oh, man. What a difficult time for both of you. More hugs...
for the update on Dawn. I've been thinking
and praying for her since your other post. I'm so glad to hear that she is conscious now.
Her recovery will be a long and difficult one
so it's good she has a good friend in her
support group!

(5,708 posts)This hits all to close to me. My sister was killed in Florida by a drunk driver.
She, too, was riding a bike. I am so glad to read Dawn has regained consciousness and
her family is with her. Do keep us posted as to her progress.
