(12,344 posts)And I am not sure why he had such trouble finding a neurosurgeon to take the cyst out. I think other doctors may not trust his diagnosis.

(47,209 posts)Which can happen. From what I read it was simply a disagreement on risk vs benefit. Isnt that sort of normal? My friends ex wife went totally nuts from a tumor- it destroyed her inhibitions and conscience. They didnt catch it till it was too late.

(12,344 posts)Usually they try drugs first or psychotherpay. Maybe that's what they thought he should do. Because, contrary to his talk, nine year old kids do sometimes start hitting for no reason and it's usually a sign of an undiagnosed mental disorder.

(12,344 posts)It actually happened over 20 years ago. Things were different then. Less was known about the brain, surgery was riskier. I know when my mother started acting strange a few years ago, they immediately did an MRI. They didn't find anything, but they did say tumors could cause behavior changes.
