Hannah Hidalgo Warns Geno Auriemma After UConn HC Inquires About WNBA Eligibility
Geno Auriemma and UConn reached their 25th Final Four after beating Niele Ivey’s Notre Dame 70-52 in the Elite Eight on Sunday. It was a rather comfortable win for the UConn Huskies, who got the better of Notre Dame for the second time this season. The Huskies did not trail at the end of any quarter. Their dominance was clear from the start.
Before the game, Hannah Hidalgo showed a lot of character when she said that the Notre Dame team that UConn beat earlier in the season was not at its best. She said that, being in good form, Notre Dame is ready to take on the Huskies this time. Unfortunately for her, the game did not pan out like that. However, she still had competitive words for UConn, and this time, straight to Auriemma himself.
After the win, Geno said:
“I just love watching her, and I asked her after the game if she was old enough to go pro, and she said, ‘No, I want one more shot of you guys.'”
