(14,034 posts)The difference? The younger ones grew up with fluoridated water. We were over 10 when it started.
Thats enough of a sample size for me.
Also, given the availability of vitamin and mineral supplements, should we stop enriching bread?

(23,551 posts)From my dad, I inherited soft enamel. Even though we had Fluoridated water, I still got lots of cavities inspite of brushing several times a day. Thankfully, in my older years, that has stopped!
When my son was growing up, we had our dentist coat his teeth and he has a perfect white smile without any fillings.
Eliminating Fluoride is stupid, short-sighted and harmful to the children of Utah and Florida with probably more to come.
And what's the point of this ignorant exercise from RFK, Jr., he of the brain worm? Is he trying to harm our youths?
Probably, as Trump's idiot toady, these actions are aligned with Trump's desire to destroy the United States in every way possible.

Since discontinuing fluoride in tap water, Israeli dentists have observed a significant rise in childrens cavities and have urged its reinstatement, even as some parents remain firmly against the idea.
A study published in September found a significant increase in dental restorations and crowns among Israeli children ages 3 to 5, attributing the rise to fluorides absence. The researchers, from the Hebrew University-Hadassah School of Dental Medicine, concluded that the results provided further proof of the need to restore community water fluoridation in Israel.
Another study, published in January 2022, analyzed six years of data from dental clinics affiliated with a national Israeli healthcare network, showing that children ages 3 to 12 required nearly double the number of restorative treatments compared to before fluoridation ended. Researchers emphasized that even Israels expansion of free dental care for all children failed to offset the worsening dental health.

(233,203 posts)It was when we moved up north so I guess there was no fluoride in the water there. We called them "salt pills," they were small white pills and that's what they tasted like.
