ICE Officers Arrive Unannounced At Nonprofits Repping Migrant Kids

(Huff Post) ICE officers have arrived unannounced in recent days at the offices of nonprofit groups that provide legal representation to unaccompanied migrant children, the groups said. The groups called the visits “the latest example of intimidation tactics” from the Trump administration, and detailed visits in which ICE investigators, as well as agents from the Department of Health and Human Services, arrived at their offices and sought access to “documents and financial records relating to the organizations’ child clients.”

IRS moves to hire 8,000 employees after DOGE cuts, memo reveals

(The Independent) The Internal Revenue Service has received special permission to quickly hire 8,000 employees through September, according to a memo obtained by NOTUS, after more than a quarter of the agency was downsized during Elon Musk’s DOGE cuts last year. Trump administration officials had initially brushed off concerns that the IRS would struggle to handle the 2026 tax season with significantly fewer employees. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent told lawmakers in April the agency was “still able to maintain current services and implement new initiatives.”

Judge orders restoration of national park plaques removed under Trump directive

(The Guardian) A US district court judge has ordered the Trump administration to reinstate any history or science materials it removed from the nation’s public monuments, finding that the White House’s actions “set a dangerous precedent of censorship and sanitization”. In March 2025, Donald Trump signed an executive order titled “restoring truth and sanity to American history”, calling upon the secretary of interior to examine monuments, memorials and statues to see if they had been altered after January 2020 to represent a “false construction of American history”.
